MyRun PH ("we," "our," or "us") operates the MyRun PH mobile application (the "App") and the website myrunph.com (the "Website"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our services.
By using MyRun PH, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Name (first and last)
- Email address
- Profile photo (optional)
- Authentication credentials (managed via Firebase Authentication)
1.2 Health and Fitness Data
With your explicit permission, we access health and fitness data from connected devices and platforms including:
- Apple HealthKit: Workout data (distance, duration, pace, calories), heart rate samples, route/GPS data, cadence, and elevation
- Garmin Connect: Activity data, workout summaries, heart rate data, GPS routes, and training metrics via the Garmin Connect API
- COROS / Suunto / Polar: Workout data from supported third-party platforms
Important: We do not sell health and fitness data to third parties. Health data accessed via Apple HealthKit is used solely within the App in accordance with Apple's HealthKit guidelines and is never used for advertising purposes.
1.3 Location Data
With your permission, we access GPS route data from your workouts to display route maps and enable location-based features. We do not track your location in the background or when the App is not in active use.
1.4 Event Data
When you interact with running events in the App, we collect your event registrations, saved events, race results, and event-related preferences.
1.5 Usage Data
We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the App, including app sessions, feature usage patterns, and crash reports.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Display your workout history, statistics, and analytics
- Show running event information and enable event registration tracking
- Sync your data across devices via Firebase Cloud services
- Enable social features (running buddies, shared workouts)
- Generate AI-powered workout share cards (your photo and stats are processed temporarily and not stored on AI servers)
- Provide personalized content and recommendations
- Improve and optimize the App's performance
- Communicate important updates about the service
3. Third-Party Services
We integrate with the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions for backend services. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
- Apple HealthKit: Read-only access to health and workout data, subject to Apple's privacy requirements.
- Garmin Connect API: Access to Garmin workout and health data with your authorization. See Garmin Privacy Policy.
- Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In / Facebook Login: Authentication services. We only receive your basic profile information (name, email).
- Google Gemini API: Used for AI photo generation features. Images are processed temporarily and not retained by Google beyond the API request.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored using the following methods:
- Local device storage: Workout data from HealthKit, cached events, and app preferences are stored locally on your device
- Firebase Firestore: User profiles, event data, buddy connections, and linked workout events are stored in Google's Firebase cloud infrastructure
- Firebase Storage: Profile photos and race kit images are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), secure authentication via Firebase Auth, and per-user data isolation.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data only in the following circumstances:
- With your consent: When you explicitly choose to share workout data with buddies or on social media
- Service providers: With Firebase/Google for cloud infrastructure (under their data processing agreements)
- Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect our legal rights
6. Garmin Connect Data
When you connect your Garmin account to MyRun PH:
- We access your Garmin activity data only after you explicitly authorize the connection
- Data accessed includes: activities, workout summaries, heart rate, GPS routes, and related metrics
- You can disconnect your Garmin account at any time from the App settings, which will stop all future data access
- We do not store your Garmin login credentials — authentication is handled via Garmin's OAuth 2.0 flow
- Garmin data is used solely to display your workout information within MyRun PH and is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: View all your data within the App
- Correction: Update your profile information at any time
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data from the App settings. This permanently removes your data from our servers
- Revoke permissions: Disconnect HealthKit, Garmin, or other services at any time
- Data portability: Export your workout data from within the App
8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:
- Your user profile is permanently deleted from Firebase
- All linked workout data, event submissions, and buddy connections are removed
- Profile photos and uploaded images are deleted from cloud storage
- Local device cache is cleared
9. Children's Privacy
MyRun PH is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
10. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside the Philippines (via Google Cloud/Firebase infrastructure). By using MyRun PH, you consent to such transfers. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email. Continued use of MyRun PH after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
